Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
Than in men
Hypothyroidism, a very serious problem in India, affects one in every ten persons, being twice more prevalent in women than men.
A survey by a Mumbai endocrinologist shows that thyroid tends to impact women in the most productive and reproductive period of their life, profoundly affecting the health of Mother and child.
The causes were earlier linked to iodine deficiency. In the last 20 years, however, deficiency has been reduced but not the prevalence. The main cause is being identified as of Auto-immune origin, in more than 90% of cases being Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.
The treatment in modern medicine is lifelong replacement of the thyroid hormone.
The Homoeopathic claim to tackle autoimmunity needs to be tested in the clinical setting.
Autoimmune thyroid impact is measurable by estimating the levels of antithyroid antibodies – an expensive investigation! The effect of homoeopathic medicines needs a pre and post intervention measurement.
After successfully treating Covid by Homoeopathy, Deenanath Hospital will now help take up this study to establish the utility of homeopathy in treating this condition.
Deenanath hospital will contribute by reducing costs of the investigations at an accredited laboratory.
This project will benefit the Community in improving QUALITY OF LIFE and the Homoeopathic science in getting its due place in evidence-based science.
Dr. Phansalkar of the MLD Trust and Dr. Deshmukh, the Endocrinologist, will conduct this research.
We need Rs. 5 lakhs more to support the study for ordering investigations and supporting research fellows.
We appeal to you to help us serve Homoeopathy.
